A Great Weekend

Sometimes you just need a fiber fix. Whether it is reviewing your stash, breezing through the fluff at a craft store, visiting a yarn shop, or best yet - a fiber festival! This past weekend I got to attend SAFONA's 4th Annual Fiber Festival in New Holland, PA. Although it is small (held in a fire company building), it does not lack for fluff.
And so as winter looms nearer & most chances of getting such a fiber fix are slim pickings, SAFONA saved the day! Although it was cool but sunny outside, there was plenty of warm selections to browse through indoors. Naturally, some great mohair and alpaca roving jumped into my arms. I'll be prepared when the snow blows (oh, yeah, we already had over ten inches of that powdery white stuff before Halloween -- thanks, Mother Nature.)
After the fiber festival, we ventured toward Lancaster but stopped in Intercourse and wandered around the Kitchen Kettle Village area. Wow, would you believe it? A Yarn shop! Well, of course we had to go in. There, as I made my purchase, I mentioned my article in the Knitscene magazine.... one thing led to another...
I had my first autograph request and photo-op!

This is me with Wendy of Lancaster Yarn Shop. What a busy weekend! Thank you Wendy for my moment of fame.
Well, gotta go - cookies are ready.
See you soon,
Kat
